We skipped the clunky thermostats that take forever to warm up. Instead, we use direct on/off or PWM control. This keeps the temperature exactly where you want it without that annoying “too hot, then too cold” cycle you get with cheap heaters. A Few Things to Watch Out For Here is the catch: these lamps pull a lot of power. If you’re wiring these into a smart home hub, please make sure your relays can handle the actual load. If you use a cheap, undersized switch, it’ll likely weld the contacts shut or just burn out. Not a great look. Also, think about where you put them. The heat is intense and very directional. If you tuck it too close to something that can burn, the thermal cutoff will kick in and shut everything down immediately. Give it some breathing room.
