You can’t just pop these into a cheap, old fixture and call it a day. Because the housing is sealed to keep water out, it also traps heat inside around the wiring. You’ve got to make sure there’s enough breathing room around the unit for the heat to escape. If you cram it into a tight space, you might actually melt the plastic mounts.
