When we design 1500W infrared heaters for spots like gazebos or bathrooms, we have a specific problem to solve. The heater sits right above your head. Most people just think about how much heat they’re getting. But for us, the real challenge is the light. Nobody wants a heater that feels like staring into a spotlight, especially when you’ve got kids or babies around who might look straight up. Keeping it easy on the eyes Standard infrared lamps can be blinding. They hit you with this harsh, intense light that just irritates your eyes. To stop that, we play around with the quartz coatings and the filaments. We basically shift the light curve. By filtering out those blinding frequencies and sticking to long-wave infrared, we get the best of both worlds: you feel that deep, penetrating warmth on your skin, but the light stays soft. No glare. No squinting. The power side of things We went with 1500W because you need that kind of punch to fight off a breeze in an open gazebo. To keep the unit from being a giant eyesore on your ceiling, we use a high-density filament. It keeps the footprint small. Just a heads-up on the electrics: a constant 1.5kW draw is no joke. Make sure your wiring is up to the task so your junction box doesn’t get too hot. getting the height right Since these are radiant heaters, the heat doesn’t linger in the air—it travels in a straight line. This means placement is everything. If you mount it too high, you’ll barely feel the warmth. Too low? You’re going to bake whatever is sitting directly underneath it. It’s all about finding that sweet spot. We also add tempered glass and protective grilles to keep the filament safe from dust and steam. Now, the glass does create a tiny bit of a delay when you first flip the switch. It takes a second to warm up, but once it hits the right temperature, the heat flows perfectly.
