When the span hits 3 meters and beyond, we don’t piece together smaller units. We spec a single, continuous lamp unit—one complete thermal system sized for your exact line width. We typically run it at 400V. Why? Because that voltage delivers the wattage you need across the full length without needing extra transformers to hold the current back. The payoff is high-density heat—enough to preheat the substrate fast, so the process keeps moving. But that power comes with real-world requirements. Your electrical setup and cooling need to be ready for the load and the heat that comes with it.
The guts: quartz, halogen, and a connection you can trust
The heating element is a high-output halogen lamp, sealed inside a quartz tube. Quartz is tough—it handles rapid temperature shifts and stays chemically stable, which helps it last. The halogen cycle keeps the filament stable, and that matters because it means consistent output—hour after hour, for thousands of hours. For the electrical connection, we use R7s terminals. It’s a two-pin end-cap setup, a proven standard in industrial heating. It’s solid, handles high current, and is straightforward to wire and maintain. The reflector assembly is designed to focus infrared energy downward, so more of the heat goes where you need it—onto the substrate—and less is wasted.

On a Low-E coating line, the preheat stage has to be uniform. If the heat varies, you get defects in the final coating.
